Athena’s Care Instructions: To clean the board, wash regularly with soap and water and let dry. To maintain moisture and keep wood healthy, apply a small amount of board butter after cleaning or anytime the board appears dry. To remove smells such as garlic and lemon, apply half a lemon and coarse salt scrub to the surface of the board, scrub thoroughly and rinse. Large pieces will be delivered with a 2 oz portion of board butter with larger bottles available for purchase. Wood is a naturally antibacterial material that pushes bacteria out of the grain organically as it dries. Avoid placing the board in areas where it may be exposed to extreme heat or cold, including direct sunlight, a/c or high humidity areas, or stovetop. Exposure to high heat or cooling may cause wood to warp. The board is absolutely safe for prepping meat, simply clean with soap and water to disinfect the station between prepping vegetables and raw meat. NEVER soak board or submerge fully in water. Board is NOT dishwasher safe.
